Welcome to The Brightly Balanced Classroom. Teaching children to read is my passion, and literacy is my jam. As a teacher, I live for the "click". You know that moment. The moment where balanced literacy instruction has paid off and students are fluent, joyful readers.
I've spent over 12+ years teaching K-2, with a few years as a K-5 Reading Specialist. I have grown to love reading and all the challenges and accomplishments that come with it.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction and Reading and I am also a National Board Certified teacher in the area of Reading.
